Introduction Courses

Familiarization & getting started

Governors BV can provide for an introduction course to companies and organizations who are not familiar with or only slightly familiar with the BowTie method and BowTieXP software, the same applies to Root Cause Analysis, Tripod Beta Analysis and Investigator 3 software. The introduction course can attend to either one of the above subjects: Risk Analysis & Management (BowTie) or Incident Analysis & Investigation (Root Cause/Tripod Beta). However, a combined course with both the above-mentioned topics also belongs to the possibilities.

An introduction course is the perfect preparation for joining a master class. Having attended such a course participants will have gained basic knowlegde of the methodologies and considerable skills in using the software. It is a hands-on course with abundant opportunities to practise taking every day situations - risks and incidents - into account.

Master Classes

Learning for the Experts

Master Classes are regularly organized and facilitated by our partners in different locations all over the world. The classes are set up in close cooperation with Governors and we often engage in joint marketing campaigns to reach the right audience. The goal of a Master Class is to transform the attendees from BowTie beginners into experts. During this class all the techniques and best practices for doing BowTie risk assessments are being learnt.Your HSE and risk professionals are being prepared to undertake qualitative risk assessments using the leading BowTie Analysis & Management software. This software tool also allows you to effectively communicate risks, teaching people the why of the SMS, which will result in a deeper involvement of the workforce in the HSE Case process.

Although the content of a Master Class is relevant to all industries and all types of risks, the content can be adapted according to amongst others industry specific cases, industry related rules and regulations, the current situation in the area.The Master Class content can also be extended to include BowTie-based incident analysis: strengthening your Safety Management System with the revolutionary Black BowTie technique.

Software only Courses

Getting started & refreshers

Governors BV can provide for a software only course for companies and organizations who are familiar with the methods (Bowtie, TOP-SET, Root Cause and/or Tripod), but not with the accompanying software tools. In this course you will learn how to apply the methods in the software and how the software supports the implementation of the methods in your organization. The software only course will provide you with all the ins and outs about how to built the diagrams, the functionalities and features, presentation possibilities and how you can link it to your organizational system.

This software only course is particularly useful for companies that already work with the methods as mentioned above or that just followed a course or Master Class on a method and want to efficiently apply this knowledge in software tools or that have been working with the software and need a refresher on all the functionalities and possibilities of the software tools. These courses can be set up to your company needs, in-house or via an internet appoinment (GoToMeeting), for one individual or a group of people, with the dureation of one hour to a full day.
